Who we are?

EH kontrollrakendus is an individual verification tool for voters using the IVXV
online voting platform in Estonian elections. EH kontrollrakendus is developed
by Cybernetica AS for Estonian State Electoral Office. You can reach Cybernetica AS

This Privacy Notice describes the types of information we collect or receive
when you use EH kontrollrakendus, and how we use that information.
 
We also tell you how you can reach us to ask us to (i) access, change or not use
the personal information you have provided to us, (ii) withdraw any consent you
previously provided to us, and (iii) answer any questions you may have about our
privacy practices.
 
What personal data do we process?
---------------------------------
 
EH kontrollrakendus is an optional tool to verify cast-as-intended and
accepted-as-cast properties of votes cast on elections held with IVXV online
voting platform in Estonian elections.
 
EH kontrollrakendus uses a device’s camera when you ask it to capture
information about the vote encoded in the QR-code by the voting application. The
app uses this information to download the i-vote from the online system for the
purpose of analysing the received vote. The analysis is performed within the
device and the results are presented to you as the voter and authorised user of
the device, providing you with an assurance that your vote was correctly cast by
the voting application and received by the online voting platform.
 
How do we store and disclose the data?
--------------------------------------
 
EH kontrollrakendus respects voter privacy. For this reason, we only process the
information required to verify your vote and we only do that when you
specifically ask us to. We do not store the data that we process. We do not
store the results of the analysis. We do not disclose the data that we process
to any third parties. We do not disclose the results of the analysis to any
third parties.
 
How can the user opt-out?
-------------------------
 
EH kontrollrakendus is an optional tool. Voters can abstain from using it and
still participate in the online voting.
