As cyber threats surge across Europe, strengthening cybersecurity innovation is particularly urgent in Eastern and Central European regions where digital vulnerabilities remain high. Funded under the EU’s Horizon Europe programme, SECURE-NET addresses this challenge by uniting 11 partners from academia, business, and government across the target widening countries and the Netherlands.
The project establishes a structured framework for cross-sectoral staff secondments, where talents from both academic and non-academic sectors are seconded between the project partners to achieve, amongst others, the following objectives: i) provide researchers from academic institutions with experience in the business sector; ii) provide innovators from non-academic partners with experience in the academic sector; iii) strengthen local innovation ecosystems in selected Widening countries; iv) build a network of research support professionals; and v) share practical aspects and challenges of implementing cybersecurity measures in times of war.
Cybernetica will send two secondees and host nine secondees. By bridging the gap between theory and industry practice, SECURE-NET accelerates the translation of scientific discoveries into real-world cybersecurity solutions, enhances career prospects for participating professionals, and fortifies Europe’s digital infrastructure through sustained cross-border collaboration.
