The\r\nconsortium connects 48 organisations across Europe, Cybernetica being\r\nthe only participant from Estonia.\n\nAccording to Dr. Margus Freudenthal, lead architect for DataBio in\r\nCybernetica, the aim of the project is to assess how European bioeconomy\r\ncould gain from implementing technological capabilities and to provide\r\npractical applications. „The main role for Cybernetica is to demonstrate\r\nhow the use of interoperability, which today is perceived mainly as the\r\nenabler for e-Government services, can also be implemented in other\r\ndomains,“ Dr Freudenthal explains.\n\nThe main goal of DataBio is to show the benefits of Big Data\r\ntechnologies in the raw material production for the bioeconomy industry\r\nthrough several objectives: building a versatile DataBio platform,\r\nensuring efficient utilisation of existing data sets, ensuring\r\nwide-spread use of DataBio platform technologies in agriculture,\r\nforestry and fishery sectors, opening the possibilities for European ICT\r\nand Earth Observation (EO) companies to participate in the global\r\nBigData market  and to ensure interoperability and easy setup of new\r\nmultivendor applications utilising the DataBio platform.\n\n„We have implemented our UXP technology to build interoperability\r\necosystems in several countries, to facilitate efficiency and\r\ntransparency within the government. DataBio allows us to demonstrate\r\nthat utilising the same principles in agriculture, forestry and fishery\r\nsectors to enable data-driven decisionmaking, dramatically increases\r\nproductivity and has measurable impact to both the economy and the\r\nenvironment,“ Dr. Freudenthal says.\n\nThe project proposal estimates the possible growth of productivity of\r\ntarget sectors to up to 20%, while positively affecting related\r\nindustries as well.\n\nDataBio project is funded under the Horizon 2020, the EU Framework\r\nProgramme for Research and Innovation.\n\nUXP (Unified eXchange Platform) is Cybernetica’s interoperability\r\ntechnology which allows secure data exchange between organisations and\r\nhas been implemented as the e-Government backbone in several\r\ncountries, most notably as the core technology for Estonia’s X-Road.",[],{"metaTitle":14,"metaDescription":10,"shareImage":10},"Grant agreement to boost bioeconomy productivity",1788355403810]
