Oliver Väärtnõu assumes the position of the Head of the Information Security Systems Department on February 17, 2014. Until recently, Oliver Väärtnõu held a position of the Director of the Strategy Unit at the Government Office. His previous professional track includes positions of a senior consultant at GTC Technologies AB (Sweden, Denmark), a councillor at the establishment of the Global Trust Council, and Chairman of the Board of the Technology Competence Centre ELIKO that involved cooperation with Cybernetica.
The Information Security Systems Department is the largest structural unit of Cybernetica that is mainly involved in development of eGovernment systems. Among other important milestones, the department has developed the X-Road technology and the Internet-voting platform, as well as other essential eGovernment solutions for the State of Estonia.
In September 2013 Cybernetica suffered a great loss when our dear colleague Monika Oit, Member of the Management Board and valued leader of the Information Security Systems Department passed away. The position of Department Head has temporarily been filled in by the development manager Arne Ansper.
