As the European Union prepares for the full enforcement of the EUCC certification scheme on 17 February 2025, Estonia is actively exploring how to establish a national cryptography conformity assessment ecosystem.
In this talk, Kristjan Krips outlines the findings of a 2024 Ministry of Defence-funded study that mapped Estonia’s current capabilities and assessed the potential for developing a robust certification infrastructure. With the Estonian National Communication Security Authority (NCSA-EE) responsible for approving cryptographic products, the country is considering the steps needed to support certification in line with EU regulations.
Watch to learn what’s required—technically, organisationally, and legally—for a country to build a cryptography certification ecosystem that aligns with both national security needs and EU standards.
