Riivo Talviste, a junior researcher in Cybernetica, was awarded the Ustus Agur scholarship by the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications. His PhD thesis “Trust issues and technical complexity of applying secure multi-party computation in practice” focuses on how to analyse data so that the privacy of an individual or company is not violated.
The aim of the Ustus Agur scholarship is to support doctoral studies in the area of information and communications technology. The scholarship also promotes the outstanding contribution of Ustus Agur in the development of the Estonian information society.
Dan Bogdanov, a researcher in Cybernetica, received the same scholarship in 2010.
