Today, the President of the Republic of Estonia announced the list of recipients of the Order of the White Star. It is bestowed on Estonian citizens and foreigners in recognition to services rendered to the Estonian state.
Vello Hanson is an electrical engineer who, for the past 30 years, has systematically and in depth contributed towards the development of the Estonian IT, information security, and computer science vocabulary.
Hanson has been with Cybernetica already since 1997 – from the very beginning when Cybernetica was established. In fact, he had been working at the Institute of Cybernetics, the predecessor of our company, since 1966.
During his time in Cybernetica, his most remarkable achievements are translating information security standards to Estonian and co-authoring numerous information system security and information technology vocabularies.
