Sharemind, the privacy-preserving data analysis software developed by Cybernetica won the EU Cyber Security & Privacy Innovation Award in the Privacy/Cyber Security Innovator category.
The award was handed over in Brussels by Mr. Jakob Boratyński, the European Commission’s DG CONNECT Head of the Trust & Security Unit.
The initiative is organised by IPACSO, a joint project of Industry and Research partners to support privacy and cyber security innovation in Europe. IPACSO supports ICT security innovators who boast a state-of-the-art framework for innovation development and employ the best practices to accelerate market entry.
The Cyber Security & Privacy champions are annually selected by a jury formed of industry experts. The 2015 selection was especially challenging, as the 30 finalists were selected from 250 applications and prizes awarded in seven categories to companies from the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Norway.
The 2015 Privacy or Cyber Security Innovator award was bestowed upon Cybernetica for the innovative security properties of Sharemind, which allows analysing confidential data without compromising privacy or the control over data during the analysis process. Such high privacy requirements are immensely important in strategic decision-making processes in fields like health care or private taxation.
Cybernetica is a research-based ICT company that develops and manufactures software and hardware security solutions. Cybernetica is actively participating in several research and innovation projects, including European Commission and DARPA projects.
