This year, Cybernetica proudly took part in the "Bring Your Kid to Work" initiative – known in Estonian as Tööle kaasa! – by opening the doors of our Tallinn and Tartu offices to the children of our employees (grades 1-9). This special event gave them the opportunity to see first-hand what their parents do at work and to learn about an important topic that affects us all: safe behaviour on the internet.
Our senior researcher, Liina Kamm, led an engaging session for children in grades 1-5 on digital hygiene and online safety. Meanwhile, our Head of IT, Martin Kannel, spoke to students in grades 6-9 about the same crucial topic. The lectures were hosted in Tartu, with our Tallinn office guests joining via Zoom – perfectly reflecting how a significant portion of our daily work takes place through video conferencing and online collaboration.
Additionally, we organised a pet photo exhibition in our office, which the children really enjoyed – adding an extra touch of fun to the day.
Benefits for the children:
- Gain a better understanding of the working world.
- See and learn about their parent's daily work, work environment, responsibilities, and its value.
- Understand why different jobs are important and how every worker plays a vital role.
For Cybernetica, participating in this initiative was an opportunity to introduce our field to the next generation, inspire future talent, and reaffirm our commitment to being a socially responsible and family-friendly company.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success!
